National First Gen Day celebrates first-generation students around the country! Held on November 8 every year, this day highlights the unique contributions and successes of first-gen students. At WSU, we use this day to support and elevate first-gen voices with panels, keynotes, networking events, lunches, and more.

2024 Events
- · Heading to the CUB at noon on Wednesday, November 6, for the PB&J Club sponsored by the Office for Access and Opportunity. Learn more about First Gen programs and services at WSU and pick up a free sticker to show off your First Gen pride and support.
- · Joining the First Gen keynote livestream watch party on November 6 at 3 p.m. in the First Gen Student Center (CUB 410) with the founder and director of Storytellers for Change, Luis Ortega, in collaboration with WSU Tri-Cities.
- · Learning more about First Gen Abroad at our workshop on November 8 from noon–1 p.m. in CUB 410. We’ll talk about the summer 2025 study abroad opportunity to Seville, Spain, and the personalized support students receive as part of this program.
- · Joining the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Summit on November 14 at 10 a.m. This two-hour summit provides time for all WSU community members to learn more about “The Strengths, Struggles, and Supporting Success of First-Generation Students.”
