First Gen Proud at WSU
We are so happy you’ve joined the Cougar family. Being a first-gen student is a tremendous accomplishment, and you should be proud of everything you’ve achieved! We know there’s more greatness in store for you at WSU, and we’re here to support you along the way.
A first-generation Coug is someone whose parents or legal guardians did not have or complete a four-year degree at a college or university in in the United States during their formative years.
First Gen Voices
The First Gen Student Center collecting narratives about the first-generation student experience. It is our hope that these personal narratives resonate with other first-generation college students and help affirm that you are not alone—but that you are a part of a much larger community of first-generation students at WSU. It is also our hope that these essays raise awareness and ongoing dialogue about first-generation students. These narratives will be displayed in our First Gen Student Center, located in CUB 410, and featured here on our website.
To participate, please fill out the form. We recommend choosing questions that resonate most with your story and lived experience.
